Four years ago I was very fortunate to meet the Pereira family when I photographed the wedding of their lovely daughter Elise. This loving family of four beautiful daughters, mom and dad, and a whole slew of cute little kiddos, touched my heart from the day that I met them. When it came time for their youngest daughter Angela to get married I was very honored that she called me and asked me to photograph her wedding day. I was so happy for her to have met and fallen in love with Brian, a man as wonderful and kind as she is. Angela and Brian were married in the beautiful St. Patricks Church of Bayshore, NY and their reception was held nearby at The Bourne Mansion. This stunning mansion was the summer home of Frederick Bourne (Owner of the Singer Sewing Co.) and was built in the late 1800’s. It is located along the gorgeous Long Island Sound. The grounds are covered in huge swaying oak trees, tall lush pines, and an enormous lawn that offers sweeping views of the blue water and the sailboats going by. Angela and Brian were so happy and so grateful to be surrounded by all of their family and friends as they took this big step into their future together. One of my favorite details of the day was the intricate lace overlay that Angela wore above her strapless dress. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. The lace was taken from her mothers wedding dress and hand sewn onto a transparent tulle fabric by Angela and her mother. What a special and meaningful garment to wear on her wedding day!
